I was trying to make a purchase on FB Marketplace. The seller requested an initial $50 to deliver, with the remainder due at delivery. Then, the seller requested another $25 because "You are further away than I realized." I went back to look at the listing in FB Marketplace; it is now gone, and he hasn't responded since.

If by Apple Pay you mean Apple Cash, you're out of luck. You just gave someone cash.
If you used a credit/debit card, contact the card issuer.
You were scammed on Marketplace and Facebook is the one that should be protecting its users.

Regardless of the payment method, the seller violated Facebook's usage rules, not Apple Pay's. Although we are other end users like you and not Apple, its crystal-clear to me your beef is with FaceBook Marketplace.
