How to secure Payment Information on Apple Devices?

I deliberatly do not use apple pay on ny phone. The payment info on my apple id is deliberatly set to a paypal account. I use my mastercard to pay my rates etc and for the occasional online purchase. At a check out for when payment is made, my credit card with all the details incl the cvc number on the back come up automatically. Where are the credit card details stored. In this day of hackers, I am extremly nervous about my datanbeing stolen. I have contacted Apple a few times and they cannot help me.

Apple Pay uses dynamic tokens, not your real card information. The merchant never receives your card information or personal information, except what is required by law and necessary to fulfill your order.

The token and other relevant information is stored in the Secure Element and Secure Enclave. They are industry standard chips meeting specific ISO requirements and approved by the banking industry.
