Bought pencil 2 hours ago. Charged for an hour by plugging into USB-C of pencil and into ipad. I have not received a notification that the pencil is plugged in/connected. I have turned ipad off and back on. I have turned bluetooth off and back on. pencil is not connecting to ipad 10th gen.

I’m not sure if this would apply but since you have iOS 17.6.1 this may help. If you have a security app, even you don’t use it or it’s offloaded, it may cause issues. It caused a WiFi issue for me after uploading 17.6.1. Try deleting any security APPs you have.
