Is a Shenzhen Waweis charger for an old MacBook Pro Retina Early 2015 safe?

I gave the laptop to my sister but the original cable is faulty. I found a new, cheap one on eBay UK and am now wondering whether I should have bought it. I'm keen to extend the life of the MacBook cheaply.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

It makes me wonder about the value of eBay's statements on the subject.

I've heard of people being scammed by eBay sellers (especially with activation-locked iPhones). I've also had good experiences buying a very specific type of vintage jewelry (silver-washed pewter in the brutalist style by a a Montreal pewter smith who worked in the 1970s, if you care). Everything I bought was as advertised. But, then, the chance of jewelry exploding is miniscule.

And also “minuscule” 😏

I read a commentary once by a word puzzle designer, who one day called his local library and screamed; “why can’t I find MINISCULE in the dictionary.” The librarian answered, “because you are spelling it with an i instead of a u."

Since then I (almost) always get it right.

I am now likely to remember it as well. ;-)

I'm actually a lousy speller, always have been. Spellcheck has helped a lot. I spell almost perfectly in Russian, though.
