Impossible to copy iPhone Notes from iCloud

This has been an ongoing issue. All "support" replies are worthless as they describe how to use the app, but never address the actual problem. Telling us to copy and paste into an email to self in order to place working text into another program isn't very helpful when dealing with multiple notes extending for many pages. In iCloud online, you can certainly edit and create new notes, but the sole method of copy is as an image? Why would you want to do that? Using that method removes any ability to edit the text. No export utility is offered by Apple. You can pay $30 for an app that claims to provide these features, but that doesn't really work well either. I've got a $1k phone and it can't perform a simple task that has been a basic element in all operating systems since Steve assembled the first box. Why isn't this on the iOS? I think my 26 year old Palm Pilot could have done better.
