Not being able to update apps because you owe money

I have a reoccurring charge from Apple accumulating to at least $35, because Apple allowed me to charge my card, I figured they took it my statement said they did. here I am sitting with 101 apps that need to be updated Because apparently Apple never took the money out of my account. Mind you this charge is three reoccurring app and streaming subscriptions, which I used my card that is in my digital wallet for.

I schedule a call with a representative and get told because I “owe” money they can’t help me. Why is Apple allowed to have control over my phone that I pay for? All because I used my debit card that is in my digital wallet.

Completely absurd. I don’t want to pay for subscriptions I don’t use. LET ME CANCEL THEM DO NOT force me to pay $35 just so I can cancel.

I have received emails from each app/ company that I have stating that they have canceled my subscription. I even told the representative this and she said that doesn’t matter I still have a charge. Even though the emails were from the exact place, she was telling me the charges were from.

If Amazon and Paramount have canceled my subscription after attempting to charge my card three times, why is Apple still trying to charge me?

Your debit card likely didn't have the required funds to pay for your subscriptions when the App Store charged for them and your bank denied the charges. Because you defaulted on these charges your App Store/iTunes account is disabled. It will remain disabled until you pay the defaulted charge. You will not be able to update or redownload any content.

The fact that Amazon & Paramount have canceled your subscriptions doesn't absolve you of your debt to Apple.

If you subscribed to Amazon and Paramount through the App Store and were paying for those subscriptions through the App Store, you did business with Apple.

The fact that Amazon & Paramount canceled your subscriptions is because you defaulted on the payments to Apple and so Apple did not pay Amazon & Paramount for your subscriptions.

Those subscriptions are monthly. Do you have an Apple receipt for the exact date your bank denied the charges and you defaulted on the payments?

BTW, this is the only way to cancel a subscription from Apple.

I’m sorry, but you’re incorrect at the time that it let me do the charge I had way over the amount of funds that I needed. I received the invoice and it does, say Amazon and Paramount, plus a couple other subscriptions that I knew I had. I don’t owe Apple anything due to the fact that I did not do any business with Apple, but with a different company called Amazon and Paramount+. Thanks for trying to help though.

The invoice in which I received was emailed to me by the representative at Apple, in which I spoke to. They showed me all of the charges that they were trying to charge me for. I did not do a subscription through Apple. I went onto Paramount’s website along with Amazon’s website. I am aware that you have to go through Apple to cancel a subscription I have done that plenty of times before I’m not stupid. So once again, sir, you are incorrect. I’m thankful that you’re trying to help but please understand you are incorrect. I have been dealing with this issue and Apple customer service for the last 24 hours. I have sent repetitive emails to the IT department of Apple. This is an ongoing situation, I am taking active steps in to deal with. I realistically should not be having a charge for $17.99 for Amazon prime and an $11.99 charge for Paramount+ from Apple when I went online on safari typed in my bank information did not use Apple Pay at all.
