Can I reset my iPhone password without losing data?

I need to reset my iPhone password without resetting the phone because I don't want to lose data. I know my Apple ID and password. Is there any possibility to reset the iPhone password without resetting the phone?

Unfortunately, no. At this point, you need to reset your phone.

Click on the link for instructions on how to reset your passcode without a computer if you have iOS 15.2 or higher.

If you see a iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support

There is a feature in iOS 17 and later that helps if you change your passcode and then forget the new one right away. It wouldn't have helped in your case, because you only have 72 hours after changing your passcode, in which to use it.

Being forced to erase your phone if you forget your passcode sucks If you still have your phone – but it has an upside. If thieves steal your phone, while it is locked, and they do not know your passcode (e.g.,, from having watched you enter it), the odds are overwhelming that they WON'T be able to guess your passcode before the phone locks up, and the only way back in is to reset it and erase all of your data.

You would of course want to mark the phone as Lost, and consider requesting a remote Erase, but the passcode and the lockout for too many failed passcode entries would form the first line of defense.
