How to hide file preview?

Marked in red, the preview opens every time I launch the Finder. I would hide it by default. But how?

Click the Finder's "View" menu and select the "Hide Preview" option, or use the following keys to toggle the Preview feature: Command + Shift + P.

finder opens after download If I download any file with a browser (safari, brave, etc.), a few seconds after the download a finder window will open automatically. I can then cancel or choose. I dont want this window to open. I just want to download a file and be done with it. Important: its not opening a file, but just the finder window.
