I'm trying to remove a pesky dust spot on a video clip, but I can't seem to get the shape mask to work using Final Cut Pro. The spot moves around, so I need to animate the mask throughout the clip. Any ideas for this?Thanks!

I have never found a good solution for this that did not include lots of time and patience. You should be able to track it without much problem. The real problem comes with the replacement pixels looking right.

I made a bit of progress yesterday after communicating on this site. I was able to mask the distraction and track it, but when I was finished, I didn't know how to bring back my clip which was blacked out by the mask. Sources told me to click on Invert Mask, but that option is missing. So I'm at an impasse now.

Did you try tracking it?
I suppose the tricky thing may be how to conceal it, once you track it.
The Inspector is where you would invert a mask. How did you do the mask? Please post screenshots showing the timeline, viewer AND the Inspector.
