iPhone not importing photos to MacBook Air - FIXED

Okay so, I had about 1200 photos I had to import from my iphone to my laptop and it imported 15 photos/videos then stopped and it was not working no matter what I did. I got in contact with apple support and the verdict was that my phone was the issue and that I had to airdrop all my photos to my computer and reset my phone. I deleted the 15 or so photos/videos that had already imported. I had airdropped about 1175 of the photos in chunks of about 150 until I got to the final chunk of 25ish photos. I selected them and tried to air drop them but got an error message. I chose to select 9 photos at a time until I found the issue and I got all the way to the second item in my camera role, a video. It was the video that was causing all the issues. I deleted the video then tried to import everything again and voila! It worked perfectly! A cautionary tale for those that may have been in the same boat as myself!

TLDR: Check the item in your camera role where the import stopped, that is likely the issue! Delete it if possible, I'm not sure what you would do if it was a video or photo you really wanted to keep.

It's usually a video file. Video codecs change without warning, and the extension gives no clue. ".mov" doesn't always mean the same thing. That are some apps like VLC and Handbrake which may be able to convert the movie to something useful. Or maybe not.
