Dead spot on my iPhone XS screen post added a screen protector

A month or two ago, I added a screen protector to my iPhone XS. This created a dead spot on my screen. The spot is more like a line down the whole phone about 1/4 of the width in from the left side. I removed the screen protector and have been basically living with this problem for a while. I have tried a force restart but is there any other way to fix this?
