Is This Real? Suspiciously Cheap MacBooks Flooding the Market

Remember the old sage advice, “If it sounds too good to be true it is likely a scam."

Unless you purchase a “brand new” Mac directly from Apple or an Apple authorized reseller it has a good chance of being stolen, counterfeit, or both. People often buy these Macs only to find out they are useless because of Activation Lock, a theft deterrent that cannot be worked around.

Avoid buying any “new" Apple product from eBay, Facebook Market place, or other social media stores. You’l get what you pay for.

You protect yourself from these suspicious deals simply by using common sense. Unfortunately common sense is in very short supply these days. Snake oil salesmen and con artists have been around since caveman days.

If it seems too good to be true, then avoid it.

• You don’t want to purchase stolen merchandise, be unable to use it, then unable to get a refund (it happens more than you would believe).
• Don’t support this behavior.
• Don’t support social media users who are will to do anything for their own personal gain.
• Shop legally and you have nothing to lose.
