why does my rear camera have flare on lights, but front camera doesn't, this is painful and poor. What settings do I change as I’ve tried everything.

True. That is lens flare, and it will happen with every camera ever made when there is a light source in the scene, or just outside of it. It is doing it if there are light sources in the image or falling on the lens. The “selfie” camera is a fixed focus, much simpler lens, so fewer surfaces for light to reflect from. Did you look at the examples in→iPhone Camera Lens Flare and Reflections - Apple Community
So if ‘every camera, ever made’ why is the front not doing this, or previous iPhone versions ? TIA
