lagging
Lagging is best used to describe delays relating to internet gaming, where input takes (too) long to be processed at the intended moment.
Did you perhaps mean pauses from buffering? If enough bandwidth (network capacity) is available, then buffering should be a background process on small content snippets, to make sure content is available when uninterrupted playback is wanted. When all the buffered content has been played, then playback may pause until enough of the next scene is available to resume playback.

Where did you get this timeline from? Are you referring to a prior post on this forum that has some similarities? URL please. Threads here that have been inactive for some months get locked as no longer relevant to reply to. OP is likely to have moved on, with the issue resolved or not.
When the cause of your issue can’t be linked to the TV app on Mac, or macOS, or the streaming service itself, then other factors should be looked at. E.g.: What bandwidth does the Mac get? It’s the network, well, somewhere on the network, either in your building, or VPN, or DNS, or down the line (ISP). Things that forum users rarely see described in initial forum posts.
