Apple Music overwriting my Metadata?
Greetings,
It seems I'm one of the few people to whom this is happening. I'm a DJ and music creator so I modify the Metadata on the music I purchase and add to my Apple Music library. The library is imported from iTunes last year, after some issues where I could not get Apple Music to import. I discovered that the library file was missing the .itl extension. A Mac friend suggested I add it and try again, which I did. It worked, but the library has been a bit wonky since.
I have tried unchecking and rechecking every setting I can, to no avail. Apple suggested copying all my playlists to the desktop, backing up all music files (the music and the MusicLibrary extension live on an external SSD. They think this might clear the 'cloud' settings that may be interfering with my metadata.
They also suggested trying to create a new use account on my computer (my next test).
What I do know is: I created a test MusicLibrary account on on internal MacIntosh HD drive in the proper Music folder and it changes the metadata there as well.
I read something about Doug's scripts' forcing the library to get the metadata from the song instead of the MusicLibrary file, but it was created for iTunes and I don't see an equivalent for Apple Music
"Refresh a Track From Its File's Metadata"
I would like to ask @turingtest2 if he might have an idea of what's going on and how to resolve it?
Thanks,
Anton
