Why Am I getting Headphone safety alerts when using my iPhone with AUX?

I listen to my iPhone through a wired aux connection and keep getting the headphone safety alert. Did Apple forget about the people that use the aux setting? I use in my car / stereo daily. Clearly not headphones but keep getting this wildly annoying headphones alert. Even if I were listening to headphones, is this the best way to promote safe listening? Really hope they change this mandatory feature
