bad experience with refurbished watch series 8

Just had a hair pulling out experience with a refurbished series 8 apple watch. spent hours on the phone with apple support. The watch would not pair without doing a software update but the update would not complete. It would tell me that it had like 30 seconds to go and then - it tells me it needs the exact same update. I eventually decided to return the watch after the tech people did not seems to be able to help me. I am wondering if it's just a one-off and I should try again or if others have similar issues.

I have experienced a very similar issue with an old iPhone 6 back a few years, and when I went to the Apple Store, I was told that the problem was most likely due to a drop, causing something inside to not work properly. I assume that in your case something may have went wrong with the putting back together of the Watch. I would try a different store maybe, if you'd want to even take the risk again.
