Why can't I save audio files from WhatsApp on iPhone?

In my iphone 14 plus when I try to save audio files from WhatsApp, it says audio could not be copied because it either does not exist or the folder it is being copied to does not exist. Used to work before. Dealing with iOS is really a pain. Works fine on Android.

I do the following:

1.    Click on the audio file on the chat- hard press

2.    Click forward option

3.    Then click on the upload button at the bottom right

4.    Scroll down on the options and click on save to files

5.    It will be saved on the files folder

It does not save. I tried e mailing and downloading also. Not working the same error message pops out. This is when I get the message " Can't copy Audio XXX.mp3

audio xxx could not be copied because it either does not exist or the folder it is being copied to does not exist.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
