TV Cast/Airplay Videos from Files app to Apple TV

I’m trying to cast a video from my files app to my Apple TV, however when I open the video and press share there is no option to cast to Apple TV. My only options are, save video, add to shared album, add tags, or save to files. The only way to manage this would be to save to photos and cast to Apple TV from there. Doing so would be quite inconvenient as I organise videos that I’ve created differently than those in my photos app. Alternatively I can screen mirror however this prevents me from using my iPad while I want to play the video. The same with keynote files, I should be able to cast the keynote file to the Apple TV without having to now dedicate my entire device to screen mirroring.

Using third party apps like VLC Media player only casts sound which too is quite inconvenient as why would I want to cast sound only from a video file to an Apple TV

Does anyone have any kind of work around that’s convenient?

AirPlay is either a device setting (screen mirroring from Control Center) or an in-app function. If you want to use the in-app function, then that requires choosing an app that supports this (which the Files app does not).

You can express your wishes to Apple, and maybe they’ll implement something at some point. Feedback - iPad - Apple

Or transfer your video files to an app that support video playback and in-app AirPlay. You could transfer files to the Photos app. You could transfer files from computer to the mobile through the TV app. In both cases, they would take up space in your mobile device. In contrast, the Files app offers iCloud access (as well as local).
