Bluetooth problem with iPhone 15-what worked

I had problems with my new IPhone 15 pro not recognizing anything I was trying to pair. I read all the posts and most were not solutions. Here is what finally worked for me:

turned off bluetooth
turned off speaker
turned on bluetooth
held button down on speaker to turn on and there it was!
