Can a mac mini’s storage be upgraded?

I’m Choosing to buy a Mac mini with 256GB of storage (maybe the M1 or M2 model, one of them) but can I add more storage or replace it with more storage? (I USE THESE SSDs ON MY WINDOWS PC), Will they work on my Mac mini? (If they can even be replaced)

Mac mini (M1, 2020)

Neither storage nor RAM in a Mac mini using Apple Silicon processors are able to be upgraded or replaced. Either buy the amount of storage you think you'll need down the line, or expand later using an external drive.

No, you cannot merge the internal storage with an external device to operate as a single volume. But you can use external storage for keeping your documents and other data. If you want everything on a single volume, though, you'll need to buy the mini with the amount of total storage you would like to have (allowing of course for possible future expansion of the amount of data you want to keep).
