Does  MacBook screen malfunction result in data loss?

So I’ve been using the M1 MacBook for the past 3-4 years & suddenly while using normally, the display stopped working randomly & hasn’t been able to function since.

Switching off & on still does play the sound effect & even the Keyboard lights up as normal, but the display screen (& the Touch Bar) remain blank even after multiple attempts. Find My also is no longer updating the location of this laptop since then.

Does this sudden problem with the MacBook’s display no longer working result in the loss of all my data in the laptop’s SSD memory if not previously backed-up in years?

If it is really just the screen, then there should be no data loss. But it's possible that the main logic board has developed a fault and would need to be replaced which would result in total data loss. Can you obtain an external monitor that you could use and see if the Mac is indeed still able to boot? If so, you can then back up your data.
