Cannot download my iCloud Email in On Outlook desktop in Windows 11

On or about 7/20/2024 my Outlook desktop stopped connecting to the iCloud servèr for email. I got a new app specific password. The server settings did not change. I’m not sure Outlook knows where the iCloud email account downloads to. That is, I don’t see any reference to the Folder location for the email to sync. My PC Outlook has handled iCloud alias account for several years.

this is an attempt to re-connect the Email account in Outlook for Windows. The server search runs very long and fails.

the account has been setup using my iCloud Alias. My primary Apple ID is my Gmail account. Using that in ICloud Email settings has never worked.

i have my iCloud Email setup using my Alias and it has worked in the past several years with the settings already in my Outlook. Windows is current. Outlook desktop and iCloud for Windows are current and running properly.

after many long waits, there is a response that Outlook could not reach the server. Neither server is reached.

my outlook email folder is on One Drive and that has worked fine until now.

I have a new Windows 11 Laptop. The problem repeats in the Outlook for Windows on the new laptop.

Can anyone please give some detailed steps / instructions to solve this problem?
