Does Photos on iOS allow for keyword searching?

I added a keyword of "batteries" in the Photos app on macOS 11.7. Then I synced my iPhone 7 and went into the iOS Photos app. There I did a search for batteries and not a single photo came up.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

How are you syncing the photos from the Mac to the iPhone?

When you are syncing the iPhone and the Mac both with iCloud Photos, the keywords will be synced to iCloud and searching for the keywords on the iPhone should be showing the tagged photos in the search results. It may depend on the system version on your iPhone, but with iOS 16 and 17 my iPhone used to list the photos with the keyword in the list of search results.

I don't know, if the keywords will be synced to the iPhone, when you are syncing manually with the Finder and not with iCloud Photos.
