How to move a Reminder to a Specific Standard List Section in the Apple Reminders App

I want to move a Reminder to a specific section within a Standard List. Here’s what I’ve tried:

  1. Dragging and Dropping: I tried dragging a reminder to a specific standard list, but there is no option to choose a specific section during the drop. Although I can drag the reminder again after it’s been moved to a default section named "Other," this process can become messy. The reminder initially gets placed in the "Other" section, requiring additional steps to drag it to the intended section.
  2. Copying and Pasting: When I copy or cut a reminder and try to paste it into a specific section of the list, the paste action only works for creating a new reminder, and only the title is transferred, not the full details.

How can I move a reminder directly into a specific section of a standard list while retaining all its details?

Here’s how you can move a reminder to a different list ⇢

  1. Tap a list, then tap the reminder that you want to move.
  2. Tap the Edit Details button.
  3. Tap List, then choose the list that you want to move the reminder to.
  4. Tap Done.

Once you have moved the reminder to a different list, you can hold and drag up and down your reminders to rearrange them.

Hello Zachyy,

Thank you for the suggestion, but I’m already familiar with how to move reminders to a different list. My question is specifically about moving reminders to a specific section within a standard list.

When I drag a reminder to a standard list, there isn’t an option to select a section within that list. I understand I can rearrange reminders once they are in the list, but this often leads to the reminder being placed in the "Other" section initially, which requires additional steps to move it to the desired section.

Is there a way to directly place a reminder into a specific section within a standard list during the drag-and-drop process?
