Streaming to my hearing aids from using Siri on my Apple Watch

until today, I was able to stream everything on my Apple Watch to my hearing aids, which are by Oticon and do not have have to be attached by Bluetooth. Until today, I could ask a question of Siri and I would hear it in my hearing aids but not through the speaker so other people could hear the answers I sought. Does anyone know the solution for this? I don’t have this problem on my Apple iPhone, incidentally.

I also have another hearing-like/hearing aid gadget by which I was able to hear things streamed from my watch to those earbuds. Now, today, I can’t stream Siri’s replies through this device. This one does have to be attached through Bluetooth and I did this. It shows up that it is there and attached in settings. I also attached any hearing devices in settings. Again, note, the Oticon hearing aids are especially made I guess for streaming through iPhone and you don’t see it in the Bluetooth list of devices.

The only difference has been that yesterday. I called Apple support to attach an Apple Pencil and do some additional setting up type things for a new Apple iPad Pro that I just received. The gentleman did have me make some changes and I just don’t remember what they were, but I don’t recall that they had anything to do with hearing through hearing aids. We did not discuss that at all.

I am very frustrated.

✽ If Siri isn't working as expected: After each step in the article below, see if Siri responds:

More trouble-shooting if needed:

For compatibility: Seems keeping the WatchOS version up-to-date

and also:

the hearing-aids firmware (and / or app) up-to-date is one of the best way to avoid some difficulties.

✽ Check with the manual or manufacturer whether there are firmware updates available for the earbuds.

Wondering which WatchOS is installed on your Apple watch: (NB: Updating to watchOS 10 requires iPhone XS or later with iOS 17) Eg: About watchOS 10 Updates - Apple Support says WatchOS 10.6.1 is the latest version.

If needed:

See how to: Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

or

✽ If your WatchOS is already up-to-date: you could try restarting your Apple Watch to see if that restores order.

✽ You could also check your Apple Watch is not short of storage space in which to operate smoothly.

To check how much available storage your watch has, open the Settings app, then tap General > Storage.

✽ If needed: What to do: If your Apple Watch storage is full - Apple Support

✽ If you have any third-party (non-Apple) apps on your watch, check they are up-to-date, as older versions can cause "unexplained" issues. (Apple's software apps update automatically with the WatchOS uodates.)

Un-necessary adblockers, virus checkers, VPN, and the like are known to cause interference. Uninstall or turn off.
