14" MacBook Pro M1 2021 not powering on

I last used it about three weeks ago, put it to sleep and left it in a drawer, disconnected from a power supply. I tried to power it on today but it appears to be dead. The orange light on the magnetic power supply light does not come on when I connect it (I have tested that it works on another Mac) and I have also tried using a USB C power on all three ports to no avail.

I have tried long press hold on power button and also Shift + Control + Option and the power button for ten seconds. Neither works.

Any other suggestions or will I have to make an expensive visit to the Mac repair shop?

Connect the power adapter and let it charge all night long. At best, it will trickle charge during that time. In the morning, it might have accumulated enough charge for the various controllers to do their regular work to support regular charging, and possibly running off the power adapter.

The lights on the magsafe do not indicate power is present -- that are set by the computer to indicate deep charging, not charging, and a few other states.

If no joy from this, you may need service agency to intervene.

Thanks, but there appears to be no power reaching the laptop at all (hence no light on the mag charger). As far as I understand, even if the battery is dead, it should power on when plugged in? I did try leaving it plugged on over night all the same, but as expected, no luck powering it on in the morning. Any other suggestions?
