PHOTOS to facebook/instagram sync from High Sierra or Mojave

something came up today and i'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

i cannot get Photos to sync to Facebook in High Sierra using my Facebook password (it's correct).

it gives no error message it simply doesn't sync.

so i'm wondering if this is some kind of facebook support issue as my impression is that for instance GMail won't allow Mac Email to talk to GMail anymore (at least as far as i understand it).

ALSO, i don't even see an option to sync to Facebook from Photos on Mojave and i'm wondering if i should?

thanks for any tips as my plan was to sync up Flickr and Instagram to get a workflow for my portfolio working prior to migrating to new hardware/software. as opposed to the other way around.

Being that both 10.13 High Sierra and 10.14 Mojave are outdated and unsupported OS versions, I would suggest that rather than sort out your sync issues with those old operating systems, go ahead and first migrate to your new hardware and software, and then sort out the syncing you want to get done.

Newer macOS versions – Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma – are being actively supported by Facebook, Gmail, Flickr and Instagram. I honestly doubt there is any continuing support from any of those developers for the High Sierra and Mojave OSs. There is no guarantee that if you sort things out on an older OS then those steps will directly translate to a newer, more modern OS.
