I have tried various different solutions and I either can’t locate the item in finder or the instructions don’t work. I’m dyslexic and it’s a real problem. Is this an issue with Apple? If so, please fix it. I am not IT savvy. I just want my dictation to work. The icon appears but no text.

I found a solution that works. Go to keyboard, then under dictation there’s a ‘microphone source’ change it from automatic to MacBook Pro Microphone.
sigh. I didn’t change anything to make my dictation work to text stop working. It’s infuriating
