Airdrop between mac and ipad

How do I associate my mac and ipad? Right now whenever I want to airdrop something to my iPad from my mac I need to turn on "to everyone" on my iPad in the Airdrop function. This is troublesome as the function only last for 10 minutes. Both devices are signed in with the same apple iD, and my iPad and phone automatically detect each other without the need to turn on "to everyone." My iPad can also detect my mac, just not the other way around. How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.3

If both your Mac and iPad are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID, AirDrop between devices should be available.

By contrast, if your devices are signed-in to iCloud using a different AppleID, they are effectively different Users - and as such, unless the User's each have a Contact Card defined within their respective Contacts Apps, you must set AirDrop to receive from Everyone. By design - and for your security - this setting is automatically can cancelled after 10 minutes.

Assuming that both devices are using the same AppleID as you suggest, try a forced-restart of both your Mac and iPad - as this may clear the issue. Otherwise, it may be necessary to sign-out from iCloud, restart, and then sign-in again to iCloud on one or both devices.
