There are several reasons you might not be able to download apps.
- You can update the iPhone X listed in your tag line to the latest release of iOS 16. You cannot update it to iOS 17 or later. If an app vendor has decided to require iOS 17, you cannot run that app on the iPhone X.
- If you are underage, your parents or guardians may have put Screen Time restrictions on your iPhone, to prevent you from downloading apps without their permission. If this is the issue, you would need to talk to them and see what (if anything) they are willing to let you download.
- If you don't have a valid payment method on file, you might not be able to download apps – even "free" ones. (A lot of those are free to download, but are like coin-operated vending machines stocked with "in-app purchases.")
- If you are trying to download an iOS update, or a large game, and you do not have much free space remaining on your phone, there might not be enough space to complete the download.
Without further information, it is impossible to know which of these (if any) is the cause.
