Chrome keeps breaking on Macs

I work at a school with a large number of Macs. For past six months or more I have a problem where Chrome randomly stops working on the Macs. The chrome icon turns to a white background with a gray circle/grid on top of it.

Clicking this icon gives a message stating the app is damaged. I've done all the usual steps: reinstalled/updated Chrome countless times, updated Mac OS, rebooted, etc., etc. and it still happens. I think it may have something to do with updates to Sonoma as this does not happen on older Mac OS's. Or else Apple and Google are duking it out and we the users are paying the price. Either way, the only "real" fix I have found is to download Chrome Beta, which works every time and never breaks. So now I install Chrome and Chrome Beta on all my Macs. Anyone have an actual solution to this?
