Sent emails disappeared from my MacBook but still show on iPhone

Some sent emails weren’t showing on my MacBook Air. I tried to find them in other folders but now all sent messages have disappeared on MacBook-it show as:

Sent (Read Only)

1690 messages

I’m unable to find them but they all still show on my iPhone-any help appreciated

If your email account is IMAP, meaning that all messages are saved on the provider's service and you're using the mail app included in macOS, try control-clicking or right-clicking on the Sent mailbox and selecting "rebuild mailbox", if that option is presented. Also make sure that the account is on-line by control-clicking or right-clicking on the Inbox; see if there's a "take [your account name] online" option. If so, select that.

If neither of those suggestions works, try removing the account from Mail and re-adding.

Hope this helps. Regards.

Not knowing which version of macOS you're running things may be different, but on my system you can go to either System Preferences -> Internet Accounts or to Mail's preferences ->Accounts, and you can see your iCloud account there, remove it, and re-add. I would suggest confirming that all the emails you expect to see are present in your account by logging into your iCloud.com account and viewing mail there. Since you see them on your iPhone they probably still exist, but I'd recommend confirming before removing the account from your Mac.

Hope this helps.
