Photos crashes when importing more than one photo
Trying to import old photos taken on a Nikon. They are JPEGs. I can import 1 with no problems, if I select more that one Photos crashes.

If I open the CD/DVD I am import from and select the photos I want to add to the library it works if I open Photos first then select all the pictures to import and drag and drop them to the Library within the Photos App.
If I drag and drop them on the App Photos crashes. If I select import within Photos and select more than on photo it crashes.
I found away to add them to the library atleast.
Where is your Library stored? If it's on an external that needs to be formatted Mac OS X Extended, Journaled or apfs.
Have you tried to repair/restore your library by launching it with the Option+Command keys held down?
How much free space do you have on your boot drive?
I almost always drag pictures from external storage like an SD card or a DVD or a flash drive to a Finder folder first, then later I import them to Photos. I like being able to manipulate them in Finder before sending them to Photos.
So what you're doing sounds normal to me...
It is on the local hard drive
