i need help with apple pay. Support could not fix this.

hello reader,

I called apple support about this problem but they said that my bank has to arrange this. Today I called my bank and they said again that the payment went through Apple pay so that is why they can arrange it. I made a purchase via safari in July 2024 for €8.99, I thought it was a one-time thing but it was debited again in August exactly a month later. Now I saw yesterday exactly a month later that the store wanted to debit it again, but I kept my balance low so that it is not possible. Now apple says that I can manage the payments in my wallet, on google that is indeed also stated but I seriously cannot see anything in my wallet and then with card details. Actually it should also be possible via settings and then with subscriptions, but there is nothing there either. When I go to the site I can't find anything to cancel something or whatever. store does not respond I have also already emailed them. I have also reported incorrect seller details to my bank. but nothing solves it and I can't go to Apple support until tomorrow.. I have now removed the card from my wallet and requested a new card from my bank with a new card number. What else can I do? Do you think that if I top up my account again, it will be debited again? while I have completely removed the card everywhere, also between expired/old cards. Thanks in advance

iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 17

If you can’t find the subscription when looking at subscriptions in your Apple ID, the two remaining possibilities are someone in your Apple Family Sharing group or your credit card is compromised.

Are you a member or organizer of an Apple Family Sharing group?

If not, your account is compromised. However, just changing the card and issuing new numbers is generally not enough. The Payment Network Operators (Visa, MasterCard, Am/Ex etc.) have a service that automatically updates the merchant and any virtual cards in electronic wallets you may have.

So, what probably happened is your card data was skimmed when you swiped or inserted the chip. The stolen data was sold on the Dark Web and when purchased, they added the data manually to their Apple device and signed up for subscriptions on the App Store.

When you bank issued a new card, new numbers etc. They also updated the numbers on the fraudsters iPhone. If the PNO also uses a Automatic Billing Updater, the merchant got the new numbers too and the fraudulent billing will continue too.

I’d call the bank back and inquire about the devices that your card is on. I’d also ask about if they offer an ABU to merchants and if so, did they update the merchants with the new information?
