Notifications not working in 17.6.1

Tapo camera alert notifications no longer work on my iPhone 12. Works on my wife’s iPhone 13 though. This is after being abroad and using a VPN app on my phone only, but both updated to iOS 17.6.1. Have reconnected the cameras and uninstalled the VPN app to no avail. Have checked all possible notification settings and ‘fixes’ suggested online. Only option left is total reset of my phone, but won’t loading from a backup just load this problem (setting??) back in?
