Ideal setup for Apple TV 4K

I’m going to be replacing my Fire Stick 4K Maxs with Apple TV 4Ks tomorrow. Both are OLED and Atmos soundbar setups. Each TV has 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs including one eARC. Each soundbar has eARC and a single HDMI 2.1 input.

I’m currently running the Fire Sticks directly into the soundbar then to the TVs. Should I do the same and just swap in the Apple TVs or should I switch to an Apple TV to TV to soundbar setup. I want to optimize both video and sound quality.

Thank you in advance.

If neither soundbar nor TV limits the passthrough function, then it will work fine in either connection order. With all HDMI 2.1 ports, it seems that this is covered, unless the manuals say otherwise.

All things being equal, I would suggest Apple TV→TV→soundbar, as that will support good sound for other HDMI devices as well, if you have those.

Only if one of them limits the passthrough function, then the connection order matters.
