locked out of mac thanks to duo app

Hi. I am locked out of my Mac after Duo was installed and can’t log in. I’m the only Mac user at work and work remotely. IT support have installed Duo on all the pcs and laptops and also remotely logged into my Mac to add Duo. However after logging off then logging back in again to test it… I am now locked out. All I get is an error code “could not connect to duo due to incorrect configuration. Please contact your system administrator”. Can’t log into the desktop at all. Have tried going through recovery mode, but nothing works. Can anyone advise if they’ve had the same issue and how they got around it? Tech support are trying to resolve but Macs aren’t there main devices, Duo offered a solution that didn’t work, seems to be a common issue having searched online and have tried those, but no luck. I just want to get Duo off my Mac (and never let anyone put stuff like that on it again!). Thought I’d try here with all the Mac people who might just be able to help 🙏 Thanks in advance.

To remove Duo, you'll need their uninstaller package, which I doubt you have since your company's IT department did the installation. So it's probably something your IT department will need to either do themselves or provide you with the uninstaller.

As to the configuration error, I'm not a Duo expert by any means, but that points to an error in configuration by your IT department, either in their admin or when they installed Duo on your Mac, and is most likely not anything you can solve from your end.

Regards.
