Where is the apple icon in the macOS character viewer?

Numerous online posts indicate that one can obtain the Apple icon by typing Shift-Option-K into a text field, but I find that doesn't work on my new M3 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.6.1.

Does anyone know how to produce this icon? I can't find it anywhere in the various categories offered in the Character Viewer (Control-Command-Space bar), including the additional categories you can use by going into the "Customize list" collection.

It is in the Unicode category, code point F8FF

Note that non-Apple fonts may not have  in them, so if you are using one of those, or in a 3rd party app, it may not display.

Also note that shift option k is for the US input source. If you are using something different, it may well be elsewhere or missing altogether. To find it on any keyboard, you can use Keyboard Viewer
