i have an android phone and an apple ipad. i was using message + for both and it worked perfectly in sending and receiving. verizon has since shut down the app on ipads and there is apparantly no replacement app that can allow the 2 devices to co-exist. can’t believe im the only one who has this problem but when i contacted verizon, they felt differently. any help would be greatly appreciated. my humbs are too fat for my phone

If you mean standard text messages, without an iPhone there's no way to send or receive those on an iPad. Verizon's app basically allowed devices to access text messages via Verizon's web servers, and as you say, that has been discontinued (completely, not just on iPads). Some vendors have their own messaging systems that are cross-platform including WhatsApp, FaceBook and others, but those of course are completly separate systems and require both the sender and recipient have the app (and usually an account with the provider). If you want to use SMS/MMS, the standard phone texting, you can't do it from an iPad.
