Macbook keyboard typing weird symbols and lights dimmer in the center after spillage

Hi,

I spilled alcohol over a part of my keyboard at work last night. I dried it as quickly as possible and left it open. Everything was fine until a few hours later when some lights were dimmer in the center and all the keys started typing different symbols (a types Æ and everything seems to be capitalised). What do you think the issue would be? Damaged keyboard unit?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.5

That indicates that the machine thinks the option and shift keys are always depressed (and probably damaged). Try an external keyboard to verify.
