How to quickly create desktop shortcuts for applications?
I'd like to create shortcut icons on desktop for applications I often run. Right now to create a single shortcut I have to do a lot of actions unnecessarily:
- Go to Applications window.
- Right click on the application.
- Make alias.
- Copy alias: Command + C.
- Go to desktop.
- Paste alias: Command + V.
- Go back to Applications.
- Delete the newly created alias icon for the application: Command + Delete.
That's so much clicking for something simple like that. No, you cannot Command + X to cut and paste the Alias from the Applications folder. The Macbook makes a funny noise when I press on Command + X in the Applications folder and when I press Command + V on the desktop, it pastes a previous Application that I copied in the past.
The way it should be:
One way:
- Command + C on the application.
- Go to desktop or any other place.
- Right click - Paste alias or Control + Command + V, or something like that for the key bind.
Another way:
- Right click on the application, Create Alias.
- Drag and drop the Alias to desktop and the system moves the alias, not copy pastes the alias like it does now.
Third way:
Simply right click on the application and then Create shortcut on desktop.
Is there a way to simplify this process? An app or something that adds a context menu for the applications "Create shortcut on desktop" or something?
