Original Post April 17, 2034 (now expired): I was having a Yahoo email issue on my iPhone where mail was taking too long to load getting "This message has not been downloaded from the server" very often. I read on Apple support that possibly deleting the Yahoo mail account and readding it might solve the problem. I did that and my Yahoo contacts never synced back to my phone. They were all deleted! On my PC Yahoo email account they are all still there. They have been syncing with my iPhone Yahoo contacts for 10 years now. After several sessions with Apple Tech support on the phone I have tried to delete and readd the Yahoo account several times. I have done a backup, erased my phone, and restored my phone from iCloud backup, readded the Yahoo account and the contacts still don't get downloaded from the Yahoo server. The emails do. I have looked at the limited Yahoo tech support info options and read that deleting and readding the Yahoo mail account to the iPhone should eventually sync up the contacts. It is a known issue but they say after several attempts it should work. So far it hasn't worked. I am really upset by this as I have more than 100 contacts with lots of address, and notes info in them that I can't access on my phone which is where I really need them. Any helpful advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I've been having problems with Yahoo mail on my iPhone MAIL app for 5 months now. The mail messages load slowly (get error downloading from server messages) and my Contacts weren't syncing to my phone. I couldn't get the Contacts on my phone after I removed them and tried to readd them to my phone. I called Yahoo tech support several times in the past 5 months. They told me that if the Yahoo mail app is working on my phone but not in the iPhone MAIL app on my phone it is an Apple problem not a Yahoo problem. Well they were wrong! I've been working with a very patient, friendly, and helpful Apple tech support person for the past 5 months to solve this problem. It has taken hours of their and my time. Finally last week the Apple tech person advised me to create a GMAIL account and see if that worked on my iPhone in the MAIL app. In the process of creating the GMAIL account, GMAL used a third party software application, ShuttleCloud, to migrate my contacts and mail messages from Yahoo into GMAIL. The GMAIL account worked great on my iPhone, the mail messages and contacts worked fine. That migration of data from Yahoo to GMAIL using ShuttleCloud also seemed to open up something in my Yahoo account. I think it changed a privacy setting. Because now Yahoo mail and contacts are working fine on the MAIL app on my iPhone as well. I think Yahoo's engineering team needs to look into this problem so that it doesn't happen to me or anyone else again.
