Streaming Apple TV from IPAD to home TV

Whenever I use Apple TV on my IPAD and connect to my home TV (Sony Bravia) it freezes as soon as the advert for another programme has finished and before the titles for the programme I am trying to watch. If I then disconnect and try again it freezes soon after the opening credits.

Why and what can I do to correct?

not sure that the monthly fee is worth it if I can onLy watch on IPAD.

While these are separate features, there is a significant overlap of TV models for these.


Please check if the Apple TV app is available for you from the Play Store on your TV. I think you would like that better than AirPlay.

That is not supposed to happen. The ‘ads’ may originate from a different server, so that could indicate a network issue, possibly DNS related or firewall related.

Try to find if there are system software updates available for your TV. Apply if available.

Verify that apps are updated automatically. (Having a prior version system software may block that.)

Try a cold restart of the TV, to load all instructions freshly.
