Change the contact card template in Contacts on Mac

Choose the fields that appear on new contact cards in Contacts. Existing cards aren’t changed.

  1. In the Contacts app  on your Mac, choose Contacts > Preferences, then click Template.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • Add a fieldClick Add Field, then choose a field to add to the template. Fields that are already included in the template appear dimmed with a checkmark.
    • Change a field’s label: Click the label, then choose a different one. For example, to enter a work email instead of home email, click Home, then choose Work. To create your own label, choose Custom.
    • Duplicate a field: Click the Add button
    • Remove a field: Click the Remove button .

If you use an Exchange account in Contacts, custom labels aren’t applied to cards.
