iPhone 15 Pro Max Overheating while using Apple Carplay

Hello everyone, I am an happy Apple customer which is experiencing a very un-Apple behavior by my device: during the last year I started using Apple Carplay (on a BMW G21, wireless CarPlay) and always get the same issue: overheating, overheating, overheating.

The device become uncomfortably hot to hold.

This take some time to develop: 30 to 60 minutes.

The problem is worse if the phone is not fully charges (as I guess the charging process is effecting the issue).

Every time it stops the charging as temperature is too high.

No difference with or without the cover.

No difference with wireless charging system or cable.

iPhone hidden by direct sunlight.

Same issue with different phone.

No difference with navigation app on or off.

This make completely useless apple Carplay during long journey as I am overheating my phone and draining the battery at the speed of light.

I know this is a common problem but the lack of official information is becoming a little embarrassing IMHO.

I really hope in a quick solution to that.

Cheers
