Do Airtags function as two-way trackers? In other words, if I somehow click on the Airtag, will my phone beep?

The Tile has this feature. I actually don't want this feature. I want to attach the Airtag to a remote control but I don't want people accidentally hitting the Airtag when they use the remote and waking me up when I sleep.

Tile has a much greater range, with new tiles going up to 400 feet. They are bidirectional so I can find my phone with them. They don’t have as good of an interface with haptics and showing distance on the free app compared to AirTag. The range is just better for locating something yourself. Now if you want to have the community find it for you, in my experience AirTag is better due to the sheer numbers of Apple users out there to ping something off of. I have both on my keys and use air tags in my luggage. The tile I use has a replaceable battery and is about 17 decibels louder than the AirTag. I’m hoping AirTags get a lot better in the next year.
