Why can I hear only voices but not background sounds on FaceTime?

Am able to hear my grandson speak on FaceTime clearly, but unable to hear the trumpet he is playing. Any advice?

Tried Apple service number. They were unable to figure it out.

There could be a few factors playing into this, but you should check the voice settings during calls. If voice isolation is on that could be a reason why audio might cut out sometimes so switching that to wide spectrum could help. Also calls from iPhones adjust audio to sound good so if there is something loud iPhone will reduce that noise to prevent damage in ears.

Hope this helps!
