Sonoma is the end of the line for a 2019 MacBook Air. (The Sequoia Preview page lists Macs which will be able to run Sequoia, and yours is not one of them.)

Some time soon, Apple will release Sequoia, and the "most recent three" will then be (Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia). If Apple keeps releasing new versions of macOS at the rate of one per year, Sonoma should fall off that list in late 2026. At that time, vendors like Microsoft and Adobe will start to abandon Sonoma – but it still might be possible for you to get useful applications from other sources.

To illustrate, consider that Catalina is still good enough to run current versions of Firefox, LibreOffice, and Affinity V2 applications – even though it has been almost two years since Catalina was one of "the most recent three."

This computer qualifies to operating macOS 14 Sonoma and not further

Normally, Apple supports the last 3 version of macOS with update for approximately 3 years from Date of Release

Looking at your byline " MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.6 "

It appears it is already running macOS Sonoma 14.6

As Sonoma was released Sept 26, 2023

You should expect getting update and security updates to about 2026
