Woofz App charged me without permission

Hi, I've signed up for the trial for 4$ (I think), and cancelled the subscription. but after the trial was ended, I was charged for 39.90$!

How do I get my money back? I can't even ask for a refund in Apple website

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17

Are you sure that you canceled the subscription?

You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.

Things about subscriptions;

⁃ Deleting an app does not cancel the subscription.

⁃ A trial subscription must be canceled more than 24 hours before the renewal date or it may renew.

⁃ Many subscriptions are set to renew automatically until you cancel them.

⁃ If you see multiple subscription offers, as long as you don’t select one, the subscription shouldn’t renew.

⁃ If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, the subscription is canceled and won't renew.

⁃ An expiration date means the current subscription has been canceled but is available to use until that date.

⁃ Use Resubscribe/Renew if you change your mind about canceling the subscription.

It sounds like you signed up for the woofz trial directly with the company on their website. If this is true it bypasses Apple's ability to manage the subscription or even issue a refund. Woofz has 2 options for a subscription , one on their website where you may have navigated to from a link in an Advertisement or Social Media post, and the other is through an in-app purchase.

Since you received the email response from Woofz citing their Terms of Use for not allowing a refund, it confirms they are specifically talking about a subscription that you have made directly with them. In this case Apple is not involved in the subscription or any attempt for a refund. You are free to make subscriptions outside of the App Store to manage them yourself and many people do that for services such as Netflix or Youtube.

Getting your money back would either have to come from Woofz to credit your payment method or possibly by disputing the charge with the bank of the card where the transaction occurred. Disputing would be a decision the bank would make and is usually available if there is fraud involved.
